Privacy Policy

WhiteCoatRoad is an independent, student-built planning tool for people considering dentistry. We are not affiliated with the American Dental Association, ADEA, any DAT program, or any dental school.

We only store what you type into the app:

• Account — your email address and sign-in identity, handled by our authentication provider.
• Roadmap profile — grade level, academic stage, major, goals, specialty interests, self-reported hours, and GPA if you choose to enter it.
• Your logs — shadowing entries (dentist name, specialty, office, date, hours, procedures observed, reflections) and experience/volunteering entries.
• App progress — DAT prep, interview prep, prerequisite tracking, GPA planner values, saved schools, and checklist state.
• Email list — your address, if you submit it to hear about updates.

We do not collect payment information, we do not accept file or photo uploads, and we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking pixels.

WhiteCoatRoad is a study-planning tool, not a medical, legal, or clinical record system. Do not enter patient information, protected health information, medical details about anyone (including yourself), government ID numbers, or anything confidential you learned during shadowing. Keep reflections about what you learned, not about identifiable patients.

Your profile, logs, and progress are private to your account. Database access rules restrict every row to the account that created it. Nothing you enter is published, shown to other users, or sold. A small number of maintainers can access the database for support and debugging.

• Cloud hosting, database, and authentication for the app and your saved data.
• An AI provider that generates the optional profile feedback. Your profile summary is sent to generate that feedback; we do not store the conversation.
• An email delivery provider for sign-in and update emails.

We keep your data while your account exists. If you delete your account, your profile, logs, progress, and email-list entry are removed immediately, and your sign-in account is deleted. Backups may retain copies for a short period before rotating out.

• Export — download a JSON copy of everything stored under your account from Account & privacy.
• Delete — permanently delete your account and data from the same page.
• Correct — edit any profile field, log, or tracker entry at any time.
• Unsubscribe — every update email includes an unsubscribe link.

WhiteCoatRoad covers middle school onward, but accounts are intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
